Paddle Sydney’s Bridge to Beach Event with Paddlecraft Kayaks on March 18th!

Winding up the Sydney 2012 summer paddling season, kayaks, skis and stand up paddling boards are being readied for entry into an iconic Sydney event on Sunday, 18th March 2012. Starting at Blues Point Reserve, underneath the spectacular Sydney Harbour Bridge, paddlers of all experience launch their craft for an 11 km race at 7:45. The race courses past the Sydney Opera House and hugs the northern shores of Sydney Harbour with sights such as Taronga Zoo, Bradley’s Head, Clifton Gardens, North Harbour Reserve. The race challenges paddlers with some open ocean waters at the Sydney Heads before finishing at the beautiful Manly Wharf.

Paddlecraft Kayaks will be participating with their Bayview Blizzards team ready to go! We will be filling up the trailer and bringing as many kayaks and skis as we can fit, but book ahead because craft and spaces are limited! Registration for the race is now open at Ocean Paddler and participants can enter on line. Save on early bird entry fees up till 8th March. All competitors are required to wear a Type 2 or 3 PFD and Paddlecraft will extend a 20% discount on a PFD purchase for all paddlers buying a PFD for the Bridge to Beach race!

Pittwater Discovery Tour Added - This Saturday

Just added – another Pittwater Discovery guided kayak tour in February! Launching from our Bayview marina location, this second Saturday, 4th February safely explore the scenic waterways of Pittwater including McCarrs Creek, Lovett Bay, Clareville Beach, Scotland Island and other lovely tour destinations. The half day morning tour begins with a 9:00 orientation for a 9:30 relaxing paddle start. A wide range of single and double kayaks are available for the kayak tour and all levels of paddlers are welcomed! Bookings are essential – a few spaces remain! Our Kayak tour destinations vary and will also depend on weather conditions and tidal schedules. The Bayview marina amenities include change facilities and showers, an outdoor café and picnic area. Enjoy a wonderful paddling day, and then, a refreshing wind down at the Bayview Marina!

Kayaking Trip to Akuna Bay – our 2nd Bayview Blizzard’s Excusion

Welcoming in the New Year, we are offering limited spaces on our 2nd Bayview Blizzard’s paddling excursion away from our beloved Pittwater on Sunday, 29th January! This paddle is an easy 3 – 4 hour paddle exploring a different waterway in the Kur-ing-gai Chase National Park.

We will be launching from Akuna Bay, heading up past Cottage Point and into the truly scenic Smiths Creek, replete with pretty inlets, coves and tidal beaches. Bookings are essential and the cost is $75 or $40 BYOK (Bring your own kayak!) Pack a picnic lunch for a refreshing wind down after the paddle and don’t forget to wear your swimming cossie for a quick dip.
