Perception Use Only The Best Polyethylene

These days, there are many companies making rotationally moulded polyethylene (plastic) kayaks. This means that there is a lot of choice for the prospective paddler, and it can all be very confusing.

One of the more important factors that should be taken into account in the final selection of a kayak is the quality of material used to make it. The wrong choice could leave you with a boat that does not have high impact resistance, does not have the appropriate stiffness for the desired purpose and/or is not UV stable. No thanks!

In order to ensure that you get the best quality boat possible, Perception is dedicated to only using linear low-density polyethylene that is specifically designed for rotational moulding and that meets our requirements for impact strength, hull thickness and stiffness, and UV stability. This is guaranteed by having monthly meetings with our suppliers in which they provide us with technical data and go over any issues we might have.

Further quality assurance also takes place in the form of regular testing of samples.

What does this mean for the owner of a Perception kayak? It means that they can be sure that their boat will:

  • be highly resistant to impact;
  • have appropriate stiffness for the designed purpose, ensuring great performance; and
  • will be extremely UV stable, meaning that it will be highly resistant to the harmful effects of the sun, such as fading and cracking.

It is this kind of attention to quality that means that as an owner of a Perception kayak, all you need to do is… JUST ADD WATER!
