Currawong Beach at The Basin – Paddle & Partial Bush Track

Paddle northward up to the Basin, with its sandy beach, inner lagoon and campsite, this destination is one of the park’s most popular attractions. Pull up at the northern end of the Currawong beach and you’ll find a service trail leading back to The Basin Track. Near the start of that track, look for a wooden walkway – it leads to one of the best Aboriginal engraving sites in the park, including superb figures of people, fish and kangaroos. The main track can also takes you across the heath land of the plateau and down through tall forest to The Basin to enjoy its many amenities before heading back homewards.

Trail Description

The estimated track duration is 1 hr. and is graded hard. The estimated paddle duration is 5 hrs. Standard hire rates of single and double kayak hire apply to duration of eco adventure.

What to Bring

Hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, water bottle / food, towel, swimming costume / water resistant clothing, change of clothes, booties/old sand shoes, waterproof bag with maps / trail information . Thermals/wind jacket or wetsuits are recommended on chilly days and during winter months.
