Registration for the Australia Day Cockatoo Cup, BBQ and Cupcake Bake on 26 January 2015 opens on 12 January 2015, with both a Short and Long course option. This race has an `Everyone has a chance of Winning' with a handicapped start – all types of single craft are welcome! After the race is a family BBQ in the park, the Cupcake Bake-off and raffle with there some great prizes up for grabs!
Located in the popular and picturesque area of Middle Harbour, Sydney’s the Reclink Australia National Paddle Series race is on Saturday 31 January 2015 with a 9:00am start. Starting at the Spit Bridge, participants will paddle approximately 3.4km toward Sugerloaf Bay & onwards to the Roseville Bridge before turning and making your way back. The course is 14km return and designed for those people who regularly paddle and are confident on their craft of choice (There will be a turning buoy placed at the half way mark if you wish to complete a shorter course).
An iconic Sydney event on Sunday, 22nd March 2012, the Bridge to Beach race benefiting Fragile X Syndrome, rounds out the summer’s race offerings. Starting at Blues Point Reserve, underneath the spectacular Sydney Harbour Bridge, paddlers of all experience launch their craft for an 11 km race at 7:45. The race courses past the Sydney Opera House and hugs the northern shores of Sydney Harbour with sights such as Taronga Zoo, Bradley’s Head, Clifton Gardens, North Harbour Reserve. The race challenges paddlers with some open ocean waters at the Sydney Heads before finishing at the beautiful Manly Wharf.
Paddlecraft Kayaks will be participating with their Bayview Blizzards team ready to go! We hope to be filling up the trailer and bringing as many kayaks and skis as we can fit, but book ahead because craft and spaces are limited!
